Dec 8th – moved HMR from Blitzen hosting to WebHost4SEO (nithbank.com)

The only external changes were:

• the ip address – again a dedicated ip for HMR
• private nameservers (ns1/ns2.homemusicrecording.com)
• the “neighbourhood”

Interestingly traffic trippled from 8th December. Was this just coincidence?

Move ended up being painless – although I had expected to be able to test the private nameservers before making the switch, and was confused when the nameservers failed to respond to “ping” testing.

However, registering the private nameservers at the domain registrar and adding them to the domain configuration seemed to do the trick.

I ran old and new nameservers in the domain config for a day or two to make sure there was plenty of time for the update to ripple across the web.

Looks like sales could be well over $20k this month ($15k as of yesterday stats.)
